Bis(pentamethylene)thiuram tetrasulfide - Names and Identifiers
Bis(pentamethylene)thiuram tetrasulfide - Introduction
Bis(pentamethylene)thiuram tetrasulfide, chemical formula (C11H20N2S6), is a derivative of bispentamethylene thiuram thiocarbamate. It is a colorless to pale yellow crystalline solid.
Bis(pentamethylene)thiuram tetrasulfide is mainly used as a rubber accelerator and can be used in the vulcanization process of rubber products, such as rubber processing and the production of rubber products. It can promote the crosslinking and vulcanization reaction of rubber, improve the heat resistance, weather resistance and corrosion resistance of rubber, and increase the strength and wear resistance of rubber products.
The method for preparing Bis(pentamethylene)thiuram tetrasulfide is by reacting methylene pentamethylene thiuram with thiol. The specific preparation method is as follows:
1. Dissolve methylene pentamethylene thiuram in ether;
2. add thiol and stir the reaction;
3. The precipitate was filtered, washed with ether and dried to give Bis(pentamethylene)thiuram tetrasulfide.
Bis(pentamethylene)thiuram tetrasulfide need to pay attention to safety during use. It is irritating and may cause irritation to the eyes, skin and respiratory tract. Use should avoid contact with skin and eyes, and operate in a well-ventilated place. In case of accidental contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical help. During storage, avoid contact with acids, oxidants and combustibles, and avoid fire and high temperatures.
